Finally, the time has come for you to collect the keys to your new home, and it’s definitely an exciting time to have been waiting for its completion for the past few years. Vacant possession is the delivery of the constructed unit as per the specifications stated in the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA). This is a critical milestone as the 24-month defect liability period starts to run from vacant possession.

We know it is important for a homebuyer to know what a defect is and be able to identify building defects, however this is still not enough because defects are naturally part of the construction process.
